  1. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

Perfect haiku to excellent photo. As soon as I saw the title, I knew we’d get a woodpecker. I must be well tuned in to you.

  2. Your photo reminds me of the cut-paper silhouettes on my grandmother’s wall. She had a Victorian couple in a garden, and an English garden scene rather than the more usual profiles. I loved them, and thought paper-cutting was great fun.

  3. So true! I love the silhouette, too.

It is good because if offers only the witnessing. It sees something beautiful and sees it. And like the soul, passively observes with no thought beyond to control or complicate. It seeks nothing from you but offers wholly its world.

There is its simple purity. It speaks without words. It does not tell.

    Wonderful silhouette photography.

  6. firefly1275 – Louisiana – V. Rose enjoys creating mystical characters and worlds, with a touch of the modern day world. When she is not writing or thinking up her next story ideas, she is enjoying South Louisiana sunset.

  8. A. Gouedard – UK – Poet and student ~ I write for several reasons ~ * ~ it centres me * ~ it's an exploration and an adventure and i discover things i didn't know i knew *~ i hope that some of it might cast some light for others when they need it, like a hand held out *~ because i can't help writing - it won't shut up until i do and I feel incomplete when it goes quiet *~ because all my life I have been trying to be a poet ~ to me it always seemed the best thing a person could strive to be and that has many dimensions ~ I studied Art for three years and then Humanities ~ literature, comparative religions and theology, science in society, a bit of psychology. I have gone on studying alone ever since - mostly subjects broadly related to literature, mythology, poetry and history and now I have gone back to Uni as a very mature student, studying Eng Lit and Creative Writing. I hope this will make me a better writer. I am retired - but you never retire from writing!
