  1. Beautiful .. rich and red. 🙂

  2. M. – Since I was little I liked to visualize and create things. Painting with watercolors is what makes me happy now. That, and spending time gardening and reading. I love long walks, biking, and the beach.

  3. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

  5. Tom's Nature-up-close Photography and Mindfulness Blog – My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. Much more natural and divine, one suspects, than a bishop’s fabricated cloak.

  6. NatureSpeak Photos – I take photos of nature as an amateur. That being so, I prefer not to edit the photos so that they retain their "naturalness". These photos, even though silent, tell us volumes about life, principles, ethics and harmony. Silence and nature; so much to experience, so much to learn...

Lovely photograph indeed… and moving thoughts… marvellous post!

  7. Richard Ankers – United Kingdom – Richard M. Ankers is the English author of The Eternals Series and Britannia Unleashed all published by Next Chapter. Richard feels privileged to have had stories and poetry published all over the world. He lives to write. A prolific writer, a constant source of clearing his mind, Richard has created this website to share just some of the many poems and prose he has written that would otherwise have fallen by the wayside. Reading and writing have always been Richard's main love along with the pursuit of keeping fit, running, walking, and anything that provides a spectacular view. Running in the rain with his headphones on whilst dreaming up some future storyline is just about perfect. It would be nicer still if that run was in Switzerland or Norway, but we can't have everything. Oh, and coffee, lots and lots of coffee.

    Wonderful!

  8. It’s that time of year, isn’t it? I saw some males chasing one-another yesterday, trying to show the females that they’d make a great catch…

  9. ericbarnett2015 – I'm finally embracing the joy I find in writing. Poetry is one way I love to express what I feel and see. I especially love discovering humor in my encounters or surroundings.

Perfect pairing of image and thought. Thank you!

  10. The first song I heard this morning was a cardinal calling before the sun was even up. His was definitely the song of spring!

  11. atkokosplace – I am the unplanned child to a woman so strong. A sister to brothers. A dreamer. A writer. Ninja in the dark. Star shaped in a very square world. Teacher to eager ears. My learning desire is quenchless. On the outside looking in. Not interested in the fake. Wizard when I can find my wand. Fascinated by fireflies. Fighter of underdogs. Small, but mighty. Believer in superheros. Ecstatic to be different. Provider of nourishing meals, sassy when needed, quirky at best. Epic concoction maker. Boredom doesn't exist.

I love watching the cardinals fly about outside my kitchen window. The bright makes at lovely but so are the muted color of the female. Nice pic!

  14. firefly1275 – Louisiana – V. Rose enjoys creating mystical characters and worlds, with a touch of the modern day world. When she is not writing or thinking up her next story ideas, she is enjoying South Louisiana sunsets.

    Very beautiful Cardinal!

  15. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

    I love them! 🙂

  16. chrisbjwordsandimages – Having been a writer of non-fiction articles, verse and occasional short stories for many years, this last year I have become interested in photography. The purpose originally was to use this with the writing of the non-fiction, but I now find myself attracted to the creative art of photography. Still a lot to learn. My passions include dogs, writing and reading, and now photography. Living in Dorset with my husband and elderly dog, there are many beautiful areas to visit and enjoy.

  18. dwk758 – Puget Sound, USA – When I was in the 6th grade, I was fascinated by a brief section in my World History book about ancient Greece and the philosophers, mythology, and original Olympics. I wrote my first poem about it that started: "Ancient Greeks and old time Romans...". Ever since it has been an elaboration on that theme...and I have wandered far afield.
