  1. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

  6. cbrandon50 – I have never been one to quibble about my age. However, this year, 2010, I turned 50. I realized that life is going way too fast and I can't say that I am crazy about the direction it is going in. So, what else can one do except....blog about it!

  10. Mary Ann – Kitchen Keepers is a blog for sharing good memories, good stories and good recipes. I have been asked to record family recipes which have been favorites for many years, adding to their story every time they are prepared and enjoyed as well as those newcomers which have their own story. Since I believe growing and preparing your own food is not only a pleasure but an art which is worthy of passing on, I am pleased to begin. Gathering around our table has been so much more than providing physical nourishment for me. For as we gather, whatever the table shape may be, we form a circle, a place of conversation and knowing and caring. Expressing our gratitude for the provision of food and family, giving thanks for bread and baker, we enter a sacred space. .

  12. leiflife – I have lived most of my life as a dancer,but I have been daughter, sister, lover, wife, mother and, more recently, grandmother, writer, sculptor, musician, and visual artist. Balancing all these aspects of my life continues to be a challenge. I was born on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, but have also lived in New Orleans, Texas, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York City. My father was the artist and naturalist, Walter Inglis Anderson, and my mother was Agnes Grinstead Anderson, an elementary school teacher and a writer. As a child, I loved to dance naturally, inspired by the trees, birds, wind, and waves that greeted my every day. Eventually, I took lessons and my mother encouraged my dream of becoming a great ballerina. I studied ballet with Lelia Haller in New Orleans, and the atmosphere of competition, and the sense that one could never be good enough, daunted my dreams and exhausted my spirit and body. In 1965, Three things happened to free me from the tyrannical world of ballet and move me further toward the balance my soul craved. I discovered Isadora Duncan, the great revolutionist of modern dance, I gave birth to my daughter, Moira, and my artist father died. From here on I would claim the freedom to explore and express the whole of my life through dancing. I was free to become the many-faceted star I was born to be. Since then I have mothered and performed, loved and written poetry, taught the dance technique I called Airth (after the balancing forces of air and earth). I have shared my life with husband or lover, raised my children and kissed them goodby and hello repeatedly. I have also kissed my students goodby and enjoyed teaching workshops from which I could walk away, glad to relax in the company of various dogs and cats. I have read huge quantities of extraordinary books, making friends with the authors through their engaging characters. I have also written poems, memoirs, children's books, and one novel. I have two published books: DANCING THROUGH AIRTH and DANCING WITH MY FATHER. My brush and ink drawings, sculptures, and paintins dance through the homes of strangers while I make occasional journies to Paris and dance anonymously on Paris Streets. At age sixty-five, one is tempted to settle into complacency, to say "I have done the best I can; so be it. I would rather die.

She moved to California in 1988 where she lived on the Monterey Peninsula for 20 years before relocating to Truckee, California in the High Sierras in 2010. Originally Eva started painting with watercolors because she wanted to be able to paint little sketches as part of her travel journals. Since then Eva says she has completely fallen in love with this fluid and expressive medium. She strives to convey different moods and motifs using bold colors and unique compositions in her luminous paintings. Nature is her inspiration, color is her passion. Over the last 10 years Eva has dedicated as much time as her busy life allows exploring and learning from many different teachers and mentors. She is currently represented by a number of galleries in California. In 2009-10 she spent 5 months as an artist in residence at Mendocino Art Center, which started her career as an art instructor.   16. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

  17. LB – I'm a woman who loves spending time on the motorcycle and in, or on, any body of water. I love traveling and reading, baking and cooking, taking way too many pictures, and enjoying my family and friends. Life is an adventure, and I want to remember and express my joy for it! This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.

I hold a lifetime Real Property Administrator (RPA) professional designation in the property/facility management industries spanning over thirty years. Canadian and International Building Owners & Managers Institute with formal examinations through the Simon Fraser University of Vancouver, BC, Canada. In 2001 I came to realize that life fulfillment meant so much more than just income and having enjoyed a successful 28-year career in property management services, I looked internally to explore and discover through creative writing, specifically poetry, prose, and lyrical verse. This newfound love of writing was a natural progression for me as I had spent my entire career writing professionally to engage, inform, inspire, and move client groups to responsive action. With poetry, reader engagement and response has been a tremendous part of my life, unimpeded by any sort of mental block at any stage of the creative process. The focus of my writing leans strongly to the romantic side while also very strongly influenced by my love and connection with nature and the stunning beauty of so much of the planet. Most often, I incorporate high-resolution photographic images to enhance the reader experience. I am also a freelance editor, proofreader, line editor, grammatical and structural editor of author book manuscripts and publishing services.
