  1. victoriafeathers – I picked up my camera and my theme book and began fighting to live. I was given a death sentence along with a very rare cancer. I decided to fight. I spent two years in radical radiation and chemo treatment. Too weak to walk I began to write poetry as a means of dealing with my illness and to exercise my brain. Soon I could walk outside and never went without a camera. I have been playing at both now for four years. I notice things I never did before. It's sad to think that we take so much for granted, like dew drops, sunrises and sunsets, shadows, ripples on a pond. I thank God daily for this second chance at life and try my hardest to use my time wisely. Thank you so much for stopping by. Please invite me to drop by your site and enjoy your passion. Victoria

  3. simon7banks – Harwich, UK – I write poems and stories, often mystical or fantastical. I believe very strongly that poetry is an art of the spoken word, so the sound of the words is important: so please say my poems aloud, if only in your head. I live in the U.K., in Harwich, Essex, but have worked in Kenya and Finland, and travelled to many other places. This is my literary blog. I'm also a Liberal Democrat political activist, birder, long-distance trail walker, real ale drinker and Quaker.

That’s oddly appropriate, as the country looks very similar to what you’d find outside Bradford, Yorkshire, England – very similar to a lot of the North of England and the Scottish Borders.

  4. LB – I'm a woman who loves spending time on the motorcycle and in, or on, any body of water. I love traveling and reading, baking and cooking, taking way too many pictures, and enjoying my family and friends. Life is an adventure, and I want to remember and express my joy for it! This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.

    So nostalgic … and lovely

  8. maryoconnor12 – Along the Connecticut shoreline – I am a writer, poet, community volunteer, pupil of psychology, writing instructor, guest speaker, artist, lover of nature, curious traveler and author of Life Is Full of Sweet Spots, An Exploration of Joy, as well as Dreams of a Wingless Child, a book of award-winning poetry. An advocate of the power of writing as an agent of change, I enjoy speaking to community groups about the joy of making words sing and conduct creative poetry writing workshops for inmates at the State of Connecticut’s York Correctional Institution. As a writer and a painter, I enjoy living along the Connecticut shore, where I infuse everyday observations of the natural world with the sensitivity and insightfulness that tend to define my experience of life. It is these reflections that have helped me realize that one need not look far to find an element of peace, of celebration, of joy, in this inordinate world of which we are all a part.

    That says it all!

  13. Cynthia Guenther Richardson – Pacific NW – Hello fellow readers and bloggers, Writing has always been a powerful connector to diverse ideas and people. We each are a meaningful part of this beautiful, ever-widening web of life. Blogging enables more interaction, which I love even after 11 years of blogging posts on three different sites. For thirty years I was an addictions/mental health counselor and also a manager of home care services for elderly folks. Now that I have hit 70 and am more devoted to a creative life! I've published online or in literary journals/collections several times, including fiction and creative non-fiction pieces and poetry over five decades. Additionally, I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for an excerpt of my novel-in-progress, Other than Words (the work gathering dust at present), about a mute dancer and her impact on her adopted community and a world-travelling photojournalist. I also am working on a connected set of stories about a close-knit town in northern Michigan. On Wordpress I enjoy writing about living richly despite (or because of) life's setbacks and a diagnosis of heart disease at age 51. Posts tagged "memoir" share spiritual adventures, interactions with nature, the healing of trauma's impact and challenges of writing full-time. Short stories and creative nonfiction, and poetry are favorite genres but I enjoy sharing my photography as well My hope is my offerings reflect a profound faith in God and our humanness which cloaks spiritual natures. I include myself as part of the diverse group of writers who discover and share the illuminating, positive experiences amid life's uncertainties and hardships. Let me hear from you when you visit--I appreciate your comments a great deal. Blessings and regards, Cynthia

  15. Love this! 🙂 Is this your yard? I would love to do my ‘laundry meditation’ here – what a peaceful view.

  16. Mary Ann – Kitchen Keepers is a blog for sharing good memories, good stories and good recipes. I have been asked to record family recipes which have been favorites for many years, adding to their story every time they are prepared and enjoyed as well as those newcomers which have their own story. Since I believe growing and preparing your own food is not only a pleasure but an art which is worthy of passing on, I am pleased to begin. Gathering around our table has been so much more than providing physical nourishment for me. For as we gather, whatever the table shape may be, we form a circle, a place of conversation and knowing and caring. Expressing our gratitude for the provision of food and family, giving thanks for bread and baker, we enter a sacred space. .
    Mary Ann says:

    Just lovely. Thank you.

  17. jacquelinezuckerman – Southern California – Married mother of two adults, (very nice ones, thank you), one grandchild (soon to be two!), struggling artist/writer, who is horribly klutzy, and is finally taking time for herself. What started out as a blog about me and my artistic journey has developed into something else, an online journal of job loss, struggle to survive, and above all else, a love letter of sorts to my husband.
    jacquelinezuckerman says:

    Beautiful

  18. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......
    2ndhalfolife says:

    Sorta lonely.

  19. Dr. Denny Wilkins – Dr. Denny Wilkins professes journalism at a small, private university in the Northeast. He has climbed, hiked, kayaked, photographed, skied, and otherwise meandered aimlessly throughout the American West for decades. He has degrees in geology, environmental studies, and communication — and has tried to make use of them as a co-founder of the progressive cultural blog ScholarsandRogues.com. He’s broadly interested in how the world works and why it works that way. He hates writing, although he does like having written well.

And there you go again … another wonderful image making me homesick.

I always wanted to see Vermont. This one is going to be my desktop pic for awhile so I can gaze at it and pretend I’m actually there. = )

  21. rlm51 – Australia – I like writing stories. Twisting words to create believable, and unbelievable, characters, who have strange ways of expressing themselves. I have self-published a few novels in the past. I am working on one which has real people, not ghosts, witches, dragons, etc. When not writing, I do craft work for charity. Grow Desert Roses from seed in the hope of acquiring many different colours.

Many moons ago, I used to have a clothes line like that one. Had to boil the clothes in a copper, rinse them by hand, then peg them on the line. Had to pray the prop didn’t snap letting the washing drag on the dirt.
