  1. judysbirds – Let me start by saying that I'm a beginning birder. I know, I know. Every birder I chat with says, "I've been at this for 40 years, and I'm a beginner!" Really, though, I'm a beginner. I began documenting the birds I see each day on March 28, 2013 and began photographing birds in June. I expected to learn about birds. I didn't realize just how much the birds would teach me. Now it's time to chronicle this adventure. Come. Join me. I'd love some company on my adventure.

In Oz those would be heat dried leaves rustling in the breeze. I can hear them NOW!

  3. Aggie – Southern Arizona, USA – Life is an excellent adventure! My husband, Lou, and I have built an off grid homestead, including rainwater collection, solar power, and passive solar earthbag tiny home. I do bookkeeping, and we also make and market BathyDerm, an herbal bath tincture that is good for the skin and fades age spots.
    Aggie says:

    Thank you!

  4. Maggie Beck – We wear so many hats! I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother. I teach, garden, and scuba dive. Perhaps it is because of the complexity of life that I love the simplicity of the tideline so much. The ocean has always been a place of peace for me - yes, even after hurricanes. Now, learning to look closely, it is even more so.
    Maggie Beck says:

You are always so kind with your likes on my site! Thank you for making this awfully long winter stay beautiful through your photographs! Best, Maggie

  5. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. I am revisiting this blog after many years, many life changes and challenges and finding myself surrounding by joy and resilience. Join me for the transformation and transition.

  6. kimkiminy – Hubby & I live in the mountains an hour east of San Diego at about 4,600 feet. We try to stay as far away from civilization as possible.

I love the movement in this one.

  7. Really wonderful post – your words capture so well the beech leaves’ gift in winter. Just today I stopped my friend while walking to have her listen. So many people miss this soft sound. And then there you are raising the flag in praise of it – bravo!

  8. firefly1275 – Louisiana – V. Rose enjoys creating mystical characters and worlds, with a touch of the modern day world. When she is not writing or thinking up her next story ideas, she is enjoying South Louisiana sunset.

  11. Cynthia Guenther Richardson – Pacific NW – Hello fellow readers and bloggers, Writing has always been a powerful connector to diverse ideas and people. We each are a meaningful part of this beautiful, ever-widening web of life. Blogging enables more interaction, which I love even after 11 years of blogging posts on three different sites. For thirty years I was an addictions/mental health counselor and also a manager of home care services for elderly folks. Now that I have hit 70 and am more devoted to a creative life! I've published online or in literary journals/collections several times, including fiction and creative non-fiction pieces and poetry over five decades. Additionally, I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for an excerpt of my novel-in-progress, Other than Words (the work gathering dust at present), about a mute dancer and her impact on her adopted community and a world-travelling photojournalist. I also am working on a connected set of stories about a close-knit town in northern Michigan. On Wordpress I enjoy writing about living richly despite (or because of) life's setbacks and a diagnosis of heart disease at age 51. Posts tagged "memoir" share spiritual adventures, interactions with nature, the healing of trauma's impact and challenges of writing full-time. Short stories and creative nonfiction, and poetry are favorite genres but I enjoy sharing my photography as well My hope is my offerings reflect a profound faith in God and our humanness which cloaks spiritual natures. I include myself as part of the diverse group of writers who discover and share the illuminating, positive experiences amid life's uncertainties and hardships. Let me hear from you when you visit--I appreciate your comments a great deal. Blessings and regards, Cynthia

  12. Emma Maund – Hi, I'm Emma, a beekeeper, aromatherapist and gardener born and bred in London. I'm a slow blogger posting fortnightly (just) about bees (mostly), nature and wildlife, aromatherapy and gardens. I got married in October 2016 and am now Mrs Apis Mellifera. I'm also taking some time out for other big changes this year. In the meantime, with over 200 posts and pages to read, please feel free to explore.

I do enjoy visiting this blog, such inspiring poetry.

  13. Perle Champion – Writer, artist, photographer and sundry other things. I’ve written essays, articles and book reviews for various publications: Victoria Magazine, Birmingham Weekly, Birmingham News, Birmingham Arts Journal, Daily Mountain Eagle, First Draft Magazine, PavoMag.com, and Alabama Writer's Forum. For the private sector, I’ve designed, written, and edited newsletters, marketing brochures, sales letters, press releases, contracts, response to RFP for a major rehab company, legal documents. I paint and draw on rescued wood, canvas, papers. I love scouring construction sites for wood that is destined for some dumpsite and giving it a chance to live in someone’s home. I photograph almost anything for my own gratification. These photos find their way onto my Blog, my books (1 published, 3 in the wings) my walls and friend’s walls. I update my Blog somewhat irregularly, but I’m on Facebook a few times a day.

    Perfect pic and words.

  14. Rene Yoshi – Just a transplanted Okinawan-French Southern girl with a wee bit o' Irish, sharing photography and what I'm learning about spiritual things, including putting off legalism and religious traditions, and embracing God's matchless love, tender mercy, and amazing grace!
    Rene Yoshi says:

LOVE it! Both the image and your interpretation!

  15. litzwired – I am an artist, (over)thinker, backyard philosopher, mom, partner, dog and cat lovin', multi-national earthling who likes writing and making things.
    litzwired says:

a beautifully “graphic” photograph….lines, texture and space.

  16. Son of Sharecroppers – I'm a lawyer. But far more important to me than my work are my family and my hobbies: in particular, writing, photography, fishing, and guitar. I'm an amateur at all of these things; indeed, I am an amateur at all things important. But I keep trying to learn.
    Son of Sharecroppers says:

    Wonderful textures here.

  17. David – As you can see on my blog, Blinded By Light (http://blindlight.wordpress.com), I'm a bit of a toy camera collector. Then again, I actually use them, so maybe connoisseur would be more appropriate? There's just something about old analogue cameras and film that newer digital cameras can't capture. My theory is that digital cameras nowadays are a bit too good, and you don't get the same effects that you do when you shoot through a lens.
    David says:

Looking at this photo makes it seem not as hot here.

  18. Dr. Denny Wilkins – Dr. Denny Wilkins professes journalism at a small, private university in the Northeast. He has climbed, hiked, kayaked, photographed, skied, and otherwise meandered aimlessly throughout the American West for decades. He has degrees in geology, environmental studies, and communication — and has tried to make use of them as a co-founder of the progressive cultural blog ScholarsandRogues.com. He’s broadly interested in how the world works and why it works that way. He hates writing, although he does like having written well.
    Dr. Denny Wilkins says:

    Poignant …
