  1. What a great expression, I had never thought of the sky “flowering” – but so apt given all the amazing colors around this time of the year.

  2. estramer – Truckee, CA, USA – Eva is an award-winning watercolor artist born in Denmark. She moved to California in 1988 where she lived on the Monterey Peninsula for 20 years before relocating to Truckee, California in the High Sierras in 2010. Originally Eva started painting with watercolors because she wanted to be able to paint little sketches as part of her travel journals. Since then Eva says she has completely fallen in love with this fluid and expressive medium. She strives to convey different moods and motifs using bold colors and unique compositions in her luminous paintings. Nature is her inspiration, color is her passion. Over the last 10 years Eva has dedicated as much time as her busy life allows exploring and learning from many different teachers and mentors. She is currently represented by a number of galleries in California. In 2009-10 she spent 5 months as an artist in residence at Mendocino Art Center, which started her career as an art instructor. She strives to create an environment where students feel free to experiment and explore their creativity. Eva is teaching art workshops in the Tahoe & Reno area. Please check her website www.beautyonlocation.com for current workshop schedule.

  13. simon7banks – Harwich, UK – I write poems and stories, often mystical or fantastical. I believe very strongly that poetry is an art of the spoken word, so the sound of the words is important: so please say my poems aloud, if only in your head. I live in the U.K., in Harwich, Essex, but have worked in Kenya and Finland, and travelled to many other places. This is my literary blog. I'm also a Liberal Democrat political activist, birder, long-distance trail walker, real ale drinker and Quaker.

  14. I have been taking my daughter to work at the break of dawn and have been blessed with many sunrises like this. It is a great way to start the day. And I also like the idea of a like button – you have many beautiful pictures and poems.

  15. Cynthia Guenther Richardson – Pacific NW – Hello fellow readers and bloggers, Writing has always been a powerful connector to diverse ideas and people. We each are a meaningful part of this beautiful, ever-widening web of life. Blogging enables more interaction, which I love even after 11 years of blogging posts on three different sites. For thirty years I was an addictions/mental health counselor and also a manager of home care services for elderly folks. Now that I have hit 70 and am more devoted to a creative life! I've published online or in literary journals/collections several times, including fiction and creative non-fiction pieces and poetry over five decades. Additionally, I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for an excerpt of my novel-in-progress, Other than Words (the work gathering dust at present), about a mute dancer and her impact on her adopted community and a world-travelling photojournalist. I also am working on a connected set of stories about a close-knit town in northern Michigan. On Wordpress I enjoy writing about living richly despite (or because of) life's setbacks and a diagnosis of heart disease at age 51. Posts tagged "memoir" share spiritual adventures, interactions with nature, the healing of trauma's impact and challenges of writing full-time. Short stories and creative nonfiction, and poetry are favorite genres but I enjoy sharing my photography as well My hope is my offerings reflect a profound faith in God and our humanness which cloaks spiritual natures. I include myself as part of the diverse group of writers who discover and share the illuminating, positive experiences amid life's uncertainties and hardships. Let me hear from you when you visit--I appreciate your comments a great deal. Blessings and regards, Cynthia

  16. sherijkennedyriverside – North Bend, WA USA – Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. For the past 8 years, writing has been my second full time job, and it's worth every sleepless night. Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountains. Her heart has found its home.
    sherijkennedyriverside says:

Lovely observation as well as photo. The sky definitely sustains me when the other colors are subdued.

  17. I don’t believe in perfection, but that is perfect. The harmony of the image and the poem staggered me, just for a second. A second is a long time.

  18. hereandnow – uk – lives with her daughters and dreams, connecting with the land, finding a spiralling path from the ancestors to her own self as a woman through words, walks, trees, dressing up for the soul and motherhood.

  20. bestillandknow101 – A fellow traveler on the journey for true meaning and depth in life. Discoveries made in the smallest and largest of "spaces" all focused through the core belief that when one is still, quiet, uncluttered in mind; one will uncover the questions, then the answers will follow. Be still and know. A sense of peace and calm becomes life.

  21. kenneturner – 3481 N Country Club Vista, Tucson, AZ 85750 – . . . For some years, maybe all my life, I have been infatuated with a need for rational understanding and explanation. It is a daily pursuit from which I will never run out of intellectual work, or at least never be at a loss for words at a cocktail party. My place is that which I have walked in person and know the weather at a given time of year, know a lot of the critters, and know a lot of the people -- maybe not always by name. My photographs are easy to comprehend, which is not always true with my art and poetry. If a reader doesn't understand a poem, read it again and listen to it. Like life, exposure to it is part of its power. I'm looking forward to a new Neolithic age combining the love of nature, sex, and life based on mythical truths.

  22. willowdot21 – Berkshire – Female, wife, full time mother and Grandmother. I am not as happy go lucky as I used to be but I am still bubbling along on simmer! I have three handsome sons all grown and flown. The youngest married with a beautiful wife and two sons of his own. Back in 2010 I was working, running a home, driving and socializing then bang in a split second all that was gone. I had an accident at home. I broke my back, not for the first time, I had broken it 10 years previously as well. Unfortunately this time I had broken it really badly and it was truly messed up so I had to have two operations. I was told before each operation that the outcome could mean I spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair. Still as some guy once wrote "I am still standing " yes "better than I ever was " I no longer use the walking stick . I had lots of friends before the accident but when things like this happen, you loose most of them. Their lives move on and mine stood still and so they left me behind ...I know that is just the way life is but it hurt and always will. Then I looked around and saw those who were still there for me, these friends are the roses in my garden they need to be tended well. They are the diamonds in the dust. I will of been married 53yrs this comming year. I have found different ways to approach life, use my pain befriend it almost...yer right , well that is what they tell me at the pain clinic ROFLMAO ...... if only I could! I have found an outlet for my fears, frustrations and night terrors . I have started writing poetry if that name can be applied to my writing. I hope I do not come over as a moaning winger. I hope I am past all that. I also hope that you might see how the poetry is moving from very dark through the grey and hopefully in to light. My back is no longer straight it is C shaped because of the injury and I have lost two and a half inches in height but my Pilates and Core teachers have helped me to stand up as straight and be as strong as possible. Pain and depression are still hanging on my arm but I have weapons to use against them and if I say so myself I cope well. I have made lots of new friends, real diamonds. I am also very grateful for all the support and help I have encountered here on Wordpress. Hugs and welcome to everyone who visits.

  24. Margaret Lynette Sharp – Sydney, Australia – I studied Short Story Writing and Freelance Journalism for a total of five years when I was younger, but it's only lately that I've tried to make a go of it as a professional. I have written eleven books now, all published by Amazon Kindle, and most also published as paperbacks by Createspace and available on the Amazon web-site. Several Sydney libraries have copies of some volumes, and they are currently on loan.My books are all listed by Goodreads. The total number of ratings of my titles there is in excess of 80, with an average of 4.4 stars. I am happily married to Ronald Sharp, the creator of the Grand Organ in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. He has consistently encouraged me to write, and has spent much time in editing, compiling, and designing the covers of each book. 26. 67merrill – Taos, NM – Long-time artist; newbie writer, having published first three books, work begun on the fourth. Non-confrontational environmentalist. Exploring the world of aging, hopefully gracefully. Came to live near Taos, NM, USA in 1997, where I built an off-grid straw bale house at least partially by myself. Not so great at laying slab or putting on roofs. At the moment, there are 2 cats here with me. I don't let them out, cause they eat everything that won't eat them first, and it's just too brutal. My books are a series of books about trees of North America. Not just the physicality of them, but their views on life and their place in the world. I'm a cusp (Taurus/Gemini) and truly am of two minds about whether we're going to make it much longer as a species. So I try to stay positive about the news, although it's getting more difficult all the time. One bright spot is the messages from the trees, which are unfailingly zen. They are great teachers, and do keep me from going the depression route, cause I don't believe anger/blame/futility from me is going to make the world a better place.
    67merrill says:

Thanks for visiting my blog (again). Love your view on Nature.

  27. projectwords11 – As I’m more than a bit obsessed by language I decided I needed an outlet! So this is going be a place for the bits and bobs I write…… when inspiration sparks my creative cogs and sends them whirring into action Writing has always been a enjoyable pastime of mine and languages have always fascinated me but now it’s become a key part of me coming to terms with the life I didn’t plan

  28. K.A. Renninger – I am an artist who paints in many mediums, but my first love is sketching. I enjoy doing a variety of subjects, but am especially drawn to the beautiful old farm buildings in the Maryland/Pennsylvania area. Animals and still life are also favorites. Among my first artistic endeavors, (somewhere around the age of 4), was a mural in red crayon just above the baseboard in my mother's living room. Needless to say, this attempt at expressing myself didn't go over well with her. However, she did encourage me to keep on creating------on the appropriate substrate, that is.
    K.A. Renninger says:

So simple, yet such a beautiful thought and picture!

  29. sued51 – Welcome visitors! I am an editor and poet who decided to start a blog as one way of keeping myself busy and writing while I was unemployed. 30. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

  34. maryoconnor12 – Along the Connecticut shoreline – I am a writer, poet, community volunteer, pupil of psychology, writing instructor, guest speaker, artist, lover of nature, curious traveler and author of Life Is Full of Sweet Spots, An Exploration of Joy, as well as Dreams of a Wingless Child, a book of award-winning poetry. An advocate of the power of writing as an agent of change, I enjoy speaking to community groups about the joy of making words sing and conduct creative poetry writing workshops for inmates at the State of Connecticut’s York Correctional Institution. As a writer and a painter, I enjoy living along the Connecticut shore, where I infuse everyday observations of the natural world with the sensitivity and insightfulness that tend to define my experience of life. It is these reflections that have helped me realize that one need not look far to find an element of peace, of celebration, of joy, in this inordinate world of which we are all a part.
