Really like this photograph, the lighting and mostly the screen behind the flowers…a great look. Nothing like a crisp autumn morning to awake the soul again after a beautiful summer.

4. simon7banks – Harwich, UK – I write poems and stories, often mystical or fantastical. I believe very strongly that poetry is an art of the spoken word, so the sound of the words is important: so please say my poems aloud, if only in your head. I live in the U.K., in Harwich, Essex, but have worked in Kenya and Finland, and travelled to many other places. This is my literary blog. I'm also a Liberal Democrat political activist, birder, long-distance trail walker, real ale drinker and Quaker.

This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.

9. Helen DeRamus, Visual Artist – Marietta – I am a fine artist working in oil paint and creating drawings on paper. My primary medium is oil paint on cradled wood using cold wax medium. Work on paper, using India Ink and graphite is a major part of my practice. Drawings lead me to the development of ideas and though the drawings may stand alone, they also lead to larger work in oil. The smaller drawings are often used as an inspiration of larger drawings. My paintings are about all the visual scraps, translucent bits and pieces, and the neuronal fragments found in the layers of memory. Using the landscape as a metaphor, the paintings are excavated from my personal memories. Throughout the United States and Canada, I have paintings, prints, photographs, and works on paper included in corporate, public and private collections including: Jacksonville State University, Ventyx Corporation, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, Georgia Perimeter College, North Georgia College and State University, The ART Station, the Ben Hill-Fitzgerald County Library, the Women's Center at Kennestone Hospital, the Atlanta Women's Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia, and Livingston College at Rutgers University in New Jersey. I am represented in Atlanta, Georgia by TEW Galleries; in Marietta, Georgia by by Robert Kent Galleries; in Homestead, Alabama by Art Alley; and In Saugatuck, Michigan by ROAN & BLACK contemporary gallery. My studio is located in the Artisan Resource Center in Marietta, Georgia a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.

12. Reblogged this on Foam of Days and commented:
I haven’t been posting anything for a while… Have a few finished projects, but just not in the mood..
I blame moody autumn.. Everything seems so silly and worthless in autumn.. I’m reading Japanese poetry, drinking cheap alcohol, dissolving in crisp autumn air.. escaping from reality in other words..
That is not Japanese, but still wonderful haiku from Leaf and Twig blog.. Have a look – it’s beautiful..

1. Julia – thanks so much for sharing me with your readers. So many endings in autumn it always makes me want to stop and just rest.

13. Son of Sharecroppers – I'm an attorney, but far more important to me than my work are my family and my hobbies: in particular, writing, photography, fishing, and guitar. I'm an amateur at all of these things; indeed, I am an amateur at all things important. But I keep trying to learn.
Son of Sharecroppers says:

Let me add my voice to the acclaim. The photo is great–and particularly the decision to have the screen visible. I wouldn’t have thought to do so–but it’s a great idea.

14. Dr. Denny Wilkins – Dr. Denny Wilkins professes journalism at a small, private university in the Northeast. He has climbed, hiked, kayaked, photographed, skied, and otherwise meandered aimlessly throughout the American West for decades. He has degrees in geology, environmental studies, and communication — and has tried to make use of them as a co-founder of the progressive cultural blog ScholarsandRogues.com. He’s broadly interested in how the world works and why it works that way. He hates writing, although he does like having written well.
Dr. Denny says:

Excellent …

15. lumar1298 – FL – Love to read, write, and meditate. I Also have a creative side. I enjoy crafting and designing and when I want action, then I dance.
lumar1298 says:

Very pretty colors…

16. Rajiv – I have been around the block a bit. I've lived in four countries, and in many parts of my country. I have been fortunate enough to meet some really good people, and some really lousy ones, all of whom have taught me much. I am passionate about photography, writing, Indian history and continuing on this grand journey towards death.
Rajiv says:

Excellent post and photography

17. 67merrill – Taos, NM – Long-time artist; newbie writer, having published first three books, work begun on the fourth. Non-confrontational environmentalist. Exploring the world of aging, hopefully gracefully. Came to live near Taos, NM, USA in 1997, where I built an off-grid straw bale house at least partially by myself. Not so great at laying slab or putting on roofs. At the moment, there are 2 cats here with me. I don't let them out, cause they eat everything that won't eat them first, and it's just too brutal. My books are a series of books about trees of North America. Not just the physicality of them, but their views on life and their place in the world. I'm a cusp (Taurus/Gemini) and truly am of two minds about whether we're going to make it much longer as a species. So I try to stay positive about the news, although it's getting more difficult all the time. One bright spot is the messages from the trees, which are unfailingly zen. They are great teachers, and do keep me from going the depression route, cause I don't believe anger/blame/futility from me is going to make the world a better place.
67merrill says:

Thanks for liking my post. A friend of mine, who I follow, reposts your pictures a lot. You have a great eye for the subtle.

18. M. – Since I was little I liked to visualize and create things. Painting with watercolors is what makes me happy now. That, and spending time gardening and reading. I love long walks, biking, and the beach.
Marian says:

Ah, dahlias, one of my favs!

19. bestillandknow101 – A fellow traveler on the journey for true meaning and depth in life. Discoveries made in the smallest and largest of "spaces" all focused through the core belief that when one is still, quiet, uncluttered in mind; one will uncover the questions, then the answers will follow. Be still and know. A sense of peace and calm becomes life.

20. estramer – Truckee, CA, USA – Eva is an award-winning watercolor artist born in Denmark. She moved to California in 1988 where she lived on the Monterey Peninsula for 20 years before relocating to Truckee, California in the High Sierras in 2010. Originally Eva started painting with watercolors because she wanted to be able to paint little sketches as part of her travel journals. Since then Eva says she has completely fallen in love with this fluid and expressive medium. She strives to convey different moods and motifs using bold colors and unique compositions in her luminous paintings. Nature is her inspiration, color is her passion. Over the last 10 years Eva has dedicated as much time as her busy life allows exploring and learning from many different teachers and mentors. She is currently represented by a number of galleries in California. In 2009-10 she spent 5 months as an artist in residence at Mendocino Art Center, which started her career as an art instructor. She strives to create an environment where students feel free to experiment and explore their creativity. Eva is teaching art workshops in the Tahoe & Reno area. 21. Rosalie Squires – 'Who am I?' is a question whose answer keeps evolving, that can be answered in many, many ways; that has no known answer at all. But there are some clues to be found: stocksharpsquires.wordpress.

26. Laura Hunt, Artist – Fort Worth, Texas – Several themes are evident in my figurative art. Human relationships. Human emotion. Social issues. Empathy. But no matter what the specific painting’s theme, the telling of universal stories through archetypal figures unifies the work. These characters invite the observer into the narrative to understand and to empathize. My influences and inspirations include American folk and tribal art of the Americas and Africa, the figurative paintings of David Park and David Bates, and the Abstract Expressionists.
Laura Hunt says:

I love this too!

28. Ajith – Greens - Dubai - United Arab Emirates – My name is Ajith Gopinathan. I live in Dubai, UAE Whether, it is fine art photography, portrait, aviation, architecture or landscape photography, everything fascinates me. I am at ease and like to experiment with different techniques and style to get my message across to my viewers. Photography is a non-verbal communicative art firm, it conveys the vision of the artist / photographer to the viewer. Just like Mozart’s symphony speaks to its listeners; a Rembrandt’s painting speaks to its viewers. This very power of visual art to communicate and connect with its viewers is what I do with my photographs. If it communicates, if it tells a story, for me it is a good picture.
Ajith says:

Beautiful 🙂

The simplicity along with the complex perspective make this picture so special. The background comes across surrealistically,, is it the lighting, the focus? I don’t know, but I applaud the photographer. 🙂

37. Stephen – County Durham – I am a County Durham based photographer, who in 2005 was diagnosed with certain medical conditions that changed my life. I was medically retired from the ambulance service in 2006. After receiving treatment and with the support from Tracy my wife I decided to start my own photography business. Photography has helped my health and well–being by keeping me active having the disabilities has thrown up its own challenges for taking photographs, but I have learned to adapt myself to manage the camera. Some of the main keys to success for me have been my creativity, passion and a good eye for an image and the belief never to give up. Bringing out the best in every image. As for the adventurer every day is an adventure, I might not be scaling mountains or canoeing fast flowing rivers. But sometimes getting to the easiest place for an image can be an adventure in it's self.
Stephen says:

A beautiful image

38. mountaincoward – I am a keen but quite cowardly mountain walker who has compleated the Scottish Munros and Munro Tops, albeit with some trepidation, and who carries a heavy film manual SLR and sometimes likes to stop to take pictures...

Several Sydney libraries have copies of some volumes, and they are currently on loan.My books are all listed by Goodreads. The total number of ratings of my titles there is in excess of 80, with an average of 4.4 stars. I am happily married to Ronald Sharp, the creator of the Grand Organ in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. He has consistently encouraged me to write, and has spent much time in editing, compiling, and designing the covers of each book. I'm keen on swimming, love animals, and appreciate good music and art.

40. Such a beautiful presentation. I, like others, love the use of the screen, the light filtering through the delicate petal of the flower and the window sill. Just perfection.

I left a career in Radiology management to pursue a country life of crafts, vintiquing, and wine tasting. I adore to travel but love to come home.
