  1. Janet Holt – Bald Head Island, NC – I am on a journey of discovery. One that involves discovering the world around me and discovering myself. I have found that using a camera is making this process of discovery much more enjoyable. I trust you will enjoy it as well. My passion for all animals knows no bounds, but it is the parrot that has caught my heart! I am now involved in a campaign to help bring parrots in the wild back into their normal existence! The Indonesian Parrot Project is first on my list, and with a little help from our friends we will bring the Abotti Cockatoo back into a full, strong life in their natural habitat.

My preferred mediums are graphite, colored pencil, watercolor, and acrylic. I currently reside in Orlando with my husband, daughter, and three Boston Terriers, but I yearn to move back to the beach!

  8. LB – I'm a woman who loves spending time on the motorcycle and in, or on, any body of water. I love traveling and reading, baking and cooking, taking way too many pictures, and enjoying my family and friends. Life is an adventure, and I want to remember and express my joy for it! This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.

  10. dival – United States – Photography is a direct means to be inspired and live life fully, especially when out in nature and capturing something so beautiful and at the moment.

Such an exquisite image of solitude and a great picture to end 2012!

  11. EllenphanPhotos – I've been struck many times by the thoughts that run through my head when I'm outdoors and contemplating nothing in particular. The thoughts can be profound or silly, sad or joyful, relevant or not. But they're always there. And with just a bit of concentration they can lead to the most astonishing places and on the most convoluted trails. Exploring those vagaries and jigs and jogs is fun. I'm attempting to find more of these trails to see if they lead anywhere or nowhere, because even nowhere is somewhere. The bits and pieces of the outdoors help to make the indoors survivable. Photos help bring the outdoors in and remind me of many of the thoughts I had while still outside, a very valuable tool they are, too.

  12. Lynda – I moved from California to Alabama in 2008, and now raise chickens, geese and ducks for fun. Most days will find me gardening, quilting, reading a good book, or occasionally writing for fun. I am a Sabbath keeping Christian. I will not apologize for my freedom of religion, nor will I tell you're wrong if your own beliefs differ from mine. Our country was founded on that right. I'm not rich, nor privileged, or powerful. I am an underdog, one among many, who lately feels like barking. Sorry, but somebody needs to say it out loud, and I am open to your comments and thoughts.
