Witnessed By Barn Windows

in the meadow
tide lines
of seeds

racing in and out
the doors and windows
opened by absence

I see a longing
in the barns’ window eyes
unsure if it is theirs or mine

an insistence
of light within
the gathering grey

straight
stands the chimney
in the wobbly roofed structure

there’s Joe-Pye weed
peeking
in the window

shy yellow house
her sun blinded window eyes
squinting through the blooms

trunks and branches
from the view
of outside outside

cathedral windows
on the ground
nature is my church

each bloom
a beacon
of light

winter still
is hunkered down
in the dooryard

red barn
holds a multitude
of views
