Her tutu a flutter
magnolia dances to the wind song
the tree an assemble en tourant, grand
Passing Through
In her twilight years
the old barn shelters
wind and memories.
Entwined
Two trunks separated only by
a whisper of wind
a ray of light.
Parting Gift
The last gift the cornfield gives
is its whispering song
on the winds of fall.
Reading Signs
Pampas grass flags
document the speed and direction of the wind.
Wide Sky
The southern wind announces Spring is on her way to us.
These clouds are ruffles on her petticoats.
Broken
Taken down by the wind
now the the mighty pine
nourishes the river bank and bottom.
So goes the cycle of life.
Dudley’s Deer
She waits at the edge of the woods for Dudley, her dog friend.
Waiting to flash her tail to signal the start of their mountain romp.
But Dudley is not in the car as the doe seems to hope.
Dudley is in heaven now, running with the wind.
Sunday Mountain
The Great Spirit resides here, peacefully presiding over us.
The wind still holds the echos of the Abenaki’s footsteps.
The soil cradles our carefully tended dreams.
