such a freedom of flowering
her delicacy
beguiles her toughness

swells of color
summer’s current
these flowering wave sets

circling
late summer
transmitting beauty

joyful sparks
in Nonnie’s garden
columbine catch fire

Amidst all the green
a single white flame flickers
lighting the path.

Both leaf and petal wear purple proudly
borrowing from violet, lilac and mulberry.
