peeking
in the window

wild beauty
on the fence rail
a compliment to flowering weeds

disparage not the dandelion
who blooms in hope with wishes

A weed’s bloom from last fall
feeds my hunger for flowers.

Blessed is the humble seed
who is the spirit of the earth

A single stem
an ordinary weed
the exquisite process of living.

Dandelion
most darling and daring of weeds
the yellow sun that wishes grow upon.

Queen Anne’s tiny petals are a memory
but her fragile beauty remains
lingering in the empty space.
