traveling with the morning light
the mountain revealed through the trees
then the pond shrugs off her shawl of pink mist
so tenderly begins this day

as tender administrations
of fragrance and delicacy
to accompany waking and dreaming

if handled very tenderly
absence can sometimes make a space
for sweetness to enter

becoming one’s self
in the care and comfort
of his attention

of this morning’s
soft pink sky

amidst the prickly places
filaments of tenderness
keep calling for touch

a feast
of delicacies
for eyes and insects

a dawning
tenderness
the universe’s embrace

the tender dawn
reminding me
to go gently into the day

the wild bloom
benevolence of simplicity

kissed the sky
goodnight

tender hearts
reach to warm
the cold, hard granite
