In the door yard garden
pick yourself a salad
taste summer.
Heaven
On certain summer days
it is clear
heaven is here with us.
July Morn
Threatening skies
don’t intimidate
wild grass
Red Flowers on Rock
On the Fourth of July
the garden celebrates in colors
with fireworks of blooms.
Expectation
On the road to Oz
the Emerald City is within view
but somehow just out of reach.
Summer Snow
Water lilies adorn the pond
Summer’s snowflakes
Buttercup
Shinning yellow
beacon of summer
buttercup is a kiss from the sun
Meadow
The colors of summer
call out from the meadow
come play with us today.
Astilbe
The red spire rises.
Nature’s Olympic flame of summer
will burn bright for the duration.
Biggest Star
Brightest orb shining the way
through spring and into summer days,
lighting the route through woods and dark days.
Hydrangea
As you hover on the edge of Spring,
your youthful summer color is long departed
and in its stead stands the eloquence of aging with grace.
Autumn Tracks
Clickity clack away rode summer.
The whisper and crunch of leaves
is the sound of Fall’s journey.
Cold Front
Between the cold front
and the warmth of the tail end of summer
is the blue sky of memory making.
River View
Tie your daydreams to the dock
and watch the diamond dance of sunshine on water
as summer slides into fall.
Meadow
This is where the dragonflies play
on lazy summer days.
Paradise is at your feet.
River’s Edge
The bank is soft as an easy chair.
The water a cool embrace.
The sky is as blue as a robin’s egg.
Perfect summer day.
Poppy
Throw off your elfin cap
and shout out the color of your summer joy.
I pray that my verve be as tenacious as yours.
