Linger Like The Light

in the ever moving stream
there are pools of calm
to be found

each seed suspended
on a stream of light
beauty bursts

a stream
of flowering sunshine
flowed across the meadow

the swimming hole
so cold now
only water frolics

still running
the brook flees
winter’s hold

Not to be outdone by spring’s flowery display
the stream flashes her diamonds in the midday sun.

Two planks
for two feet
to take two steps
and cross into
the welcoming woods.

Mountain water hurries over rocks
searching for the ocean.
