Climb The Stairs

I’ll meet you there
we’ll dine
in field with sky

there appeared
a starry night
beneath our feet

sedum climbs
stone steps
footprints of pink and green

staircase of shelves
brings Mars
into reach

carry your troubles
down to the river
wash them away

black cat and pink pumpkin
wait for halloween’s
ringing of the doorbell

spring snow
stars
at my fingertips

There is magic
under foot.

A spiral staircase from the forest floor
like an Escher leading everywhere and nowhere
all at once.

The back porch stairs
lead to the whole
of the wild woods and world.

Fairies’ feet make no footprints
in the star dust on the stairs
as they make their way to the heavens.

When the first colorful leaf
lands on the stairs
Fall has arrived.
