the herd
dwarfed by trees
nature’s hierarchy of scale

the proportion between
bird box and forest trees
makes me right sized

cross the lake
scale the mountain
touch the sky

everything rests
upon
proportion’s perception

towering
above the moss
sedum skyscrapers

tiny mushrooms
increasing
the tree’s enormity

up, up, up
the tall, tall pines
showing me my true proportion

so wide and blue the sky
a universe of clouds
floats by

a mountain of moss
grew its own forest
altering the dimensions of the world

big snow, tall trees
reminders of
how tiny we are

right sized
I rest
in their wisdom

A miniature forest in a miniscule landscape,
the majesty of moss.

a mountain with moss trees for insects to scale.
