sand – Leaf And Twig

Autumn Shore

this tide
pulls summer
into the blue depths

welcome is made
by acceptance and surrender
to beauty’s embrace

the way every element
was moving, changing, departing
I glimpsed eternity

the wood’s grain
muscles made strong
by standing

Snow like sand
in threads of grass.
Spring approaches.

I dreamed of the marsh in winter
and saw tawny wheat growing in sand as soft as a cloud.
