they meet each dawn
in the flowering meadow
just to gaze into each other’s eyes

perhaps is was Seurat
who romanced the azalea leaves
with his pointillism

the blossom
in sunshine
lovers embrace

frost feathers the window
even the cold romances spring

the wind courted snow
and at ten past two
shadow married light
