Faith

still beneath the surface of sight
yet distinctly present
leaf buds and spring

every year
spring
is born again

spring hopes rise
like mist lifting
from the morning mountain

joy made tangible
those tender greens
make my heart sing

a moveable feast
this transient sky
and light of living hope

the ground begins
to make itself
known again

iris is cloaked
in the spider’s shroud
to be seen again
on their spring resurrection

humble muddy beginnings
give rise to the feat of floating

Rock, moss, raffia of grass
the sprouting of leaves.
Resurrection.

Oh daffodil!
Perennial forbearer of Spring,
keeper of faith.
