the tree’s enormity

up, up, up
the tall, tall pines
showing me my true proportion

round peg
proportion is all

so wide and blue the sky
a universe of clouds
floats by

the architecture
of a tree
sacred geometry

big snow, tall trees
reminders of
how tiny we are

A quarter of a flower,
a sliver of the sun,
a portion of August.
