we will gather
peace and hope

worship as
an acorn eaten
a devotion left

they come from all directions on paw and hoof
to reach the sacred spot and journey beyond.

In the Northeast Kingdom
monarchs flock to the butterfly bush
before their pilgrimage south to sunny Mexico.

When the reeds begin to sing their rustling song of early Fall
the geese know it is time to prepare for their pilgrimage south.
