the sun just up
bird song breaks the night’s silence
a shared glance as we each go about our ways

first light caresses
the corn, flowers and barn
blessings of the new day

the possibilities
of a new day
glinting

color and light
rushing in
pushing out the darkness

tiniest
glow of light
begins a whole new day

morning comes
to the dahlia sun
rousing the sleeping bee

good morning, good morning
another new day made
for us to share

soft the morning rose
dreaming into being
a wholeness of day

the open gate
invites me
into the new day

the day arrived
in wisps and sighs
the kiss of color as night goodbyes

the day wakes
light yawns across the valley
creation is never done

morning crosses the river
sunlight lapping at my feet

so sweet the day
the air brand new
each moment blooms before me

The new day sweeps in
clearing darkness to the side.
