they meet each dawn
in the flowering meadow
just to gaze into each other’s eyes

a one note song
and moments visit
banishes my grey cloud

even in the solitary woods
someone cared
to make good neighbors

late for the vote
but nevertheless
greeted warmly

in the stillness
and the silence
I meet meaning

I’ll meet you there
we’ll dine
in field with sky

convening
at the birdbath
migration is debated

the spot where
spirit meets
with daily life

oriole and eagle
the meeting
of beauty and power

barn looks out
leaf looks in
seen in the meeting

good morning, good morning
another new day made
for us to share

could we meet
in the space
between the thorns

gentle look
from a wild friend
all otherness expunged

in the places
where we meet
we find who we are
