lazy boats
only the clouds
are sailing today
Dog Days
In Exchange
color leaving leaves
to redden berries and set the seeds
the bargain that autumn demands
Pause
while in admiration
everything else retreats
and the now is peacefulness beautified
Brass Echo
early turning
some azalea leaves browning
the watering can echos below
Magnifying Glasses
every drop
a new opportunity
to see more
Basking
washed with heat
colors cleaned
spirit revived
Grace
the peony
bowed by the rains
dignity exemplified
Promise
a preview of pink
before petals can
even imagine individuation
Welcomed In
the perfume
called me close
into the sweet community
Iris Leaves And Columbine
even perennials know
there is no such thing
as forever
Details
fine lines and symmetry
the extraordinary
hosta leaf
Bulbs And Cords
the seasons ever adjacent
tulips a banner of colors
brightening the wood pile
Summoning The Power To Bloom
an untold number
of miracles
must converge
Work
to bee
unobtrusive
in the beauty
Verdant Faith
leaves clasped
like hands in prayer
plants in praise of spring
The Daring Of Dreams
such grey April skies
some trees barely dare
to dream of leaves
They Make The Sunshine
let the flowers
light
the way
Like Lightening
ivy veins
electrified
with living
Phantom Limb
I still see
the rope swing, the wood pecker
your tender leaf buds and glorious colors of fall
Tulips Beginning
an abstraction
of themselves
leaves bloom like petals
The Patience Of A Metal Frog
snow may come again
still the garden will emerge
soak up the sun when you can
Apparitions Of Spring
like garden ghosts
leaves appear
upon the icy window
Which Way
no right way
straight or meandering
still arriving at the same place
Winter Is A Spider
weaving with cold
leaving an icy web
to catch the days upon
Calligraphy Of Leaves
the story of summer
written in winter
told by the fall
The Sky Sighs Snow
quiet
falls down and piles up
manifesting the white depth of solitude
Run Off
snow melt heads
back to to the aquifer
water always finds its way
Never An Admission Fee
there could be
no better museum
than a tree
January Thaw
a window into coexistence
the ice and mud
dried leaf and green grass
Rain And Wind Storm
rain and snow compete
but mostly ice
will be the victor
