Garden Illuminata

leaves harmonize
with shadow and light
in the stillness resides everything

The master gardener
grows a burgundy trellis
and decorates with dots of dew.

Brilliant red
butterfly wings
dancing in the breeze.

spring whispers green
into the air, onto the trees.

Leaves find their resting place
in the place between.

In the winter landscape
the snake with his skin of leaves and grass
hunts the water bird.

The forest has already begun decorating.

After the leaves are gone
lichen paints the forest green.

This is the spot
to rest on the plush pine needle carpet,
listen to the song of the leaves and the river
and hear the wisdom of your own heart.

Like a swarm of bees looking for their hive
yellow leaves flutter and buzz in the breeze.

In late fall fragile leaves delicately adorn the trees,
their transient nature intensifying their beauty.

Clickity clack away rode summer.
The whisper and crunch of leaves
is the sound of Fall’s journey.

A knot of limbs.
A web of leaves.
The forest is a tapestry.

The first hard frost has taken all the leaves.
One brave bloom reaches for the sun.
