quiet is the courage
that puts one foot
in front of the other

hear the sound of dog steps
joyfully crossing
back and forth

hooves on ice
paws in snow
the followed and the follower

the earth
so sodden and receptive
even wind leaves footprints

tiny feet
keep the beat
to the music of life

the silent travels
of shadows
and wildlife

some times
the deepest connection
is made alone

high noon
at red barn farm
duel of light and shadow

little bird’s
hokey pokey
turning himself around

summer left
her pink and yellow footprints
on the ripening meadow

light dances
across the surface
leaving footprints of joy

dainty deer feet
have tip-toed
in the star light

the ancient ones
leave their footprints
above and below the land.

Fairies’ feet make no footprints
in the star dust on the stairs
as they make their way to the heavens.
