Delicate lichen blossoms on stone are for you.
All of nature’s beauty awaits you.

Summer holds on
in sunshine and blossom
but Fall is pulling at her edges.

One of the first appearances of autumn’s finery
is the ruffled fungi in pumpkin and cream.

Nature presents her complexities to the observant eye
and her mysteries to the open heart.

When fall departed it took its brilliant colors with it.
The fallen leaf bejeweled by winter sparkles on.

Clickity clack away rode summer.
The whisper and crunch of leaves
is the sound of Fall’s journey.

At the edge of a mountain of color
the Christmas trees wait for their season.

As Fall approaches they challenge the changing trees

lands on the stairs
