taking my spirit

builds confidence
amongst the flowers

propelled
by Mom’s encouragement
first swim

he stops by
to encourage
the first blooms

humble daisies
holding up the world
with steadfast cheerfulness

stepping stones
in the mossy path
invitation to the woods

the faltering spirit
finds footing and support
in the solace of the garden

taking turns with sunshine
grey skies and rain drops
encourage the greening landscape

every limb’s gesture
was an encouragement
to joy
