fall’s tapestry of leaves

The birch dresses up
in a necklace of violets
to honor the full flower moon.

Bejeweled with fungi
the old tree wears
her forest finery.

When the old red barn is dressed up with a window box
not even the high noon sun can wilt away
her pretty-fication.
