departures – Leaf And Twig

Found

there was a lot of leaving
but some love
stayed behind

as leaves are leaving
the tree’s structure emerges
written in colors
a poetry of absence

remnants of the wasp nest
disintegrating leaves
upon a bed of departing snow

a buoyancy of clouds
above the embers
of the day

time
takes her
seasons dress her

as autumn’s color departs
we store its memory
for winter sustenance

birch vase holds
blooms and departures
the fall bouquet

finished pumpkin patch
crow makes his leave
winter is on the wing

Winter loiters
in the month of March.
