though the woods

at the front door
flowers will
greet your feet

daisies serenade
the peony’s
waning days

of design
and gradients
of hue

circle upon circle
the center
echos the edges

bright blooms
autumn afternoons
departing soon

the daisy’s eye
unblinking
reflecting back beauty

in relation to
not competition with
oh to be one among many

stealing the garden scene
from her same named sister
beaming centers of sunshine

abundance is
the daisy’s creed

Beloved daisy
cheerful even without color or summer.
