We Grow, Grow, Grow

contrary to their neat rows
the seedlings desire
of life is feral

a winter lean of snow
the ribs of old corn rows
still visible

last year’s corn
a stubble on the field’s
greening face

time is the harvester
of a crop that grew
to feed the earth

with the crop given
the field speaks to the clouds
of respite and restoration

everything
that was needed
was given in abundant grace

Fields of snow
are harvested
by the sun and ground.
