the sun bleached bones
of prodigious trees

it gave
a silent roar
rattling primal bones

fully
inhabited self
contradiction consummated

Is my rugby costume enough?
Will they give bones?
Where are all the other dogs?

seasons
pass through
memories remain

colors
soon a memory
landscape’s bones laid bare

the skull
is a sacred thing
still holding all that was seen

Weathered by the seasons
bleached by the sun
the bones of the tree remain.
