Dreaming Green

the leaves and moss
the water and silt
an endless becoming

holding completely still
the bird’s mantra
I am one of the leaves, I am one of the leaves

by being still
becoming
part of the motion

the temperature rises
snow becomes fog
the universe dissolves into itself

a green day dream
the whispering of leaf buds
the laughter of leaves

nothing
to do
but right now

nothing is neutral
everything
is on its way

the icing pond
receiving rain
so many ways to be

sunlight shines through you
your body wears the tilt of the reeds
what you see you become

gathering sweetness
rounding with time
growing into themselves
