O my word, where do you live? Reminds me of Kazakhstan.
Dr. Christa, I live in NH. The northeast of the United States. Out mountain terrain is very similar in geography to Afghanistan – but our vegetation is different. We always get an “unexpected” snow in April. One last beauty of winter before Spring really takes hold.
And the lowest temperatures?
It can get into the negative double digits.
OK, in Kazakhstan in went down to -38 degrees Celsius

The same scene here in western Maine and every year I hear people complain about it and I remind them that it’s bound to happen. It’s one last snowy display offer a beautiful contrast as the season transitions.

Perfect for this April 17 day that we awoke to snow coating everything including the barely formed buds and first shoots of bulbs.
