  1. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

    Lovely

  2. cathysrealcountrygardencom – France – I have a garden in France, which is not olive trees and jasmine, but much more like an English country garden. It is flowers and vegetables and wild bits and birds: not very big, but to me it is very beautiful.

Those little steppe irises are the first burst of colour in my garden too and therefore much loved. I am glad they have their own poem now!

  4. SunFreeStar – Hello! and Welcome to my world! This Blog is about my reconnection with creativity and how Nature is the fundamental source of such inspiration. I used to paint on canvas, make handicraft and create little decorations for festivals while traveling with a caravan between Spain and Portugal, where I used to sell my creations here and there. Then I stopped for 7 years. At that time I was not too keen on computers, smartphones were still not a reality and never kept a record online of my journey and creations, except for the memories of all the people I have encountered. So this blog wants to be a place where I can share the experiences and my expressions of creativity in multiple forms, so that they may be of inspiration for anybody else to reconnect with that vital part of ourselves. I would love for you to come and visit and share your story too!
    SunFreeStar says:

Really beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

  5. I’ve never quite comprehended how they came to be named “flags.” Now, it makes sense! Not only that, I found a flower in one of our bayous that’s called alligator flag. Spring has all the flags flying.

  6. Cynthia Guenther Richardson – Pacific NW – Hello fellow readers and bloggers, Writing has always been a powerful connector to diverse ideas and people. We each are a meaningful part of this beautiful, ever-widening web of life. Blogging enables more interaction, which I love even after 11 years of blogging posts on three different sites. For thirty years I was an addictions/mental health counselor and also a manager of home care services for elderly folks. Now that I have hit 70 and am more devoted to a creative life! I've published online or in literary journals/collections several times, including fiction and creative non-fiction pieces and poetry over five decades. Additionally, I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for an excerpt of my novel-in-progress, Other than Words (the work gathering dust at present), about a mute dancer and her impact on her adopted community and a world-travelling photojournalist. I also am working on a connected set of stories about a close-knit town in northern Michigan. On Wordpress I enjoy writing about living richly despite (or because of) life's setbacks and a diagnosis of heart disease at age 51. Posts tagged "memoir" share spiritual adventures, interactions with nature, the healing of trauma's impact and challenges of writing full-time. Short stories and creative nonfiction, and poetry are favorite genres but I enjoy sharing my photography as well My hope is my offerings reflect a profound faith in God and our humanness which cloaks spiritual natures. I include myself as part of the diverse group of writers who discover and share the illuminating, positive experiences amid life's uncertainties and hardships. Let me hear from you when you visit--I appreciate your comments a great deal. Blessings and regards, Cynthia

  7. Tom's Nature-up-close Photography and Mindfulness Blog – My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. 8. Mary Ann – Kitchen Keepers is a blog for sharing good memories, good stories and good recipes. I have been asked to record family recipes which have been favorites for many years, adding to their story every time they are prepared and enjoyed as well as those newcomers which have their own story. Since I believe growing and preparing your own food is not only a pleasure but an art which is worthy of passing on, I am pleased to begin. Gathering around our table has been so much more than providing physical nourishment for me. For as we gather, whatever the table shape may be, we form a circle, a place of conversation and knowing and caring. Expressing our gratitude for the provision of food and family, giving thanks for bread and baker, we enter a sacred space. .
    Mary Ann says:

My grandma called them flags. I still grow her white iris. When I move so do they.
