  1. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

    Wow!!!

  2. I have no idea what this flower is, but it hardly matters. I think it might be the flashiest, most vibrant marigold in the world. The shape is as compelling as the color.

Wow that is a beautiful flower!

  6. LB – I'm a woman who loves spending time on the motorcycle and in, or on, any body of water. I love traveling and reading, baking and cooking, taking way too many pictures, and enjoying my family and friends. Life is an adventure, and I want to remember and express my joy for it! This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.

Do you know what this flower is? It is stunning, and your capture of it, with water droplets, too, is excellent

  7. Rene Yoshi – Just a transplanted Okinawan-French Southern girl with a wee bit o' Irish, sharing photography and what I'm learning about spiritual things, including putting off legalism and religious traditions, and embracing God's matchless love, tender mercy, and amazing grace!
    Rene Yoshi says:

Magnificent! I love the heart shape in the center!

  8. I don’t know what the protocol is but do I have your permission to paint this? I’m new at watercolor and I think this would be a great challenge, especially with the rain drops. IF, and that’s a big “IF”, the painting turns out alright and if I put it up on my blog, I’d put a link back to your blog to this post. Please let me know if this is alright. Also, what kind of flower is this and where was it taken?

    1. Carol, I’d be honored it you cared to paint my images. And I’d much appreciate a link-back if you post it. “Dichotomy” is a french marigold – and this photo was taken on my porch in orford NH. Very Best, Catherine

      1. Thank you so much! You’ve actually got several photos that I’d like to paint. Your photos are beautiful! I mean more so than other photos I’ve seen.
Anyway, like I said in another comment somewhere, I’ve got paints on order so I’ll start when they come in. I’ll keep you updated K? Thanks again. BTW, I saw your page on pixels.com and you paint well. You could paint your photos too if you wanted. 🙂

  9. Catherine, One more question as I forgot to ask, IF the painting turns out ok, can I post it on my pixels.com site? Of course I would put your url in the description area and also my blog. I just want to be sure and not assume anything.

  10. camerapacker – Greenville, SC – I have been photographing since 1957. I am a retired pathologist, dedicated photographer, avid audiophile and occasional fisherman.
