  6. theearlyblogger – Myrtle Beach Area – Thank you for giving me this opportunity to tell you about my story. I hope that you are not averse to considering books with subjects seen as the underbelly of normalcy. That perhaps the true tales most would label impossible exists within terms such as spirituality, enlightenment, and self-awareness; a witnessing of things greater than us is something I’ve been struggling with myself for the better part of 45 years.

Not liking the spotlight, this truly is a great photo. It seems most times you are allowed glimpses and even good long stares, but as soon as you try and capture it with a click of the camera, off they fly! Beautiful shot!

  7. Tom's Nature-up-close Photography and Mindfulness Blog – My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. 11. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

Wonderful photo and comment. Here’s a sonnet I wrote about a GBH:
    Great Blue

Dawn spread a sheet of satin on the glass
canal and lake and towpath in between.
My walk was interrupted by the scene
of his arrival from the marsh to grass.
I stopped stock still in case he wished to pass,
so I could watch him without being seen .
The wide splayed yellow fingers on the green…
How could such stick straw spindles ever last,
supporting elegance of gray blue girth?
Binoculars allowed him in my reach…
But yellow eyes at last discovered me.
A lift of neck and feather, shrug of mirth,
one blase glance and off the grainy beach,
into the air of swallowed memory.
