  1. Tom's Nature-up-close Photography and Mindfulness Blog – My Blog primarily consists of close-up nature photos (that I've taken locally) combined with original holistic-truth oriented prose and/or poetry involving mindfulness/awareness. I love nature and I love understanding the whole (not merely the parts and the details). I'm a retired teacher of the multiply handicapped. I have a number of interesting hobbies, such as fossil collecting, sport-kite flying, 3D and 2D close-up photography, holography, and pets. Most of all, I am into holistic self-awareness, spontaneous insight, unconventional observation/direct perception, mindfulness, meditation, world peace, non-fragmentation, population control, vegetarianism, and green energy. To follow my unique Blog of "Nature Photos and Mindfulness Sayings" and for RSS feeds to my new posts, please access at: tom8pie.com (On my regular Blog posting pages, for additional information and to follow, simply click on the "tack icon" at the upper right corner... or, on my profile page, you can click on the "Thomas Peace" icon.) Stay mindful, understanding, and caring!...

  2. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

Lovely evocative shot and apt title and text

  3. Gracie K. Harold – Gracie K. Harold is a pen name that has been used in order to protect the innocent...and the guilty. I survived an abusive relationship; and my children and I fled. I have adapted our menus to accommodate life-threatening food allergies. I have survived a traumatic brain injury, amnesia, and debilitating migraines. I have mourned the losses of two different pregnancies, and been devastated by my grief. I have survived the deaths of those who were close to me. I have learned how to be a single parent while balancing my personal needs. I have survived the doubts and anger that I have openly expressed as I questioned God and wrestled for answers. I have been overwhelmed by goodness. Now, I am simply learning how to let go of my preconceived idea that I must survive the "good"; instead, I am learning how to embrace the Good...and rest. 4. I love the spirit whispers going deep, penetration into the soul, when nature is viewed and respected.

  5. blkkat49 – United States – I just want to write about anything that inspires me and to share this with everyone who wants to read it. I'm drawn to blank spaces and want to fill them with pondering, and advice and pictures. I know very little about a lot of things, but a lot about a few things. I write poetry, short stories, fiction and nonfiction and I love to read what the world of writing has to offer in any venue available. That is why I'm here.
    blkkat49 says:

A perfect display of the messages that nature sends us in so many ways.

Very touching poem, well paired with the photo!!!!

  7. flahertylandscape – I like to live landscape stories…I am a landscape architect; and I like to write stories about people, plants, gardens and the landscape.
    flahertylandscape says:

Isn’t there always something a bit unsettling about eternity…but then when the eyes settle on the plants…the settling begins, calm returns–thank you for your inspiration in words and images.

    1. Thank you for your always thoughtful and thought provoking comments. May your week be well.

    1. thanks so much. this was one where I was taking the dog out around 9pm and the moon was so stunning I had to go back out with my camera.

  8. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

    Awesome!

  9. firefly1275 – Louisiana – V. Rose enjoys creating mystical characters and worlds, with a touch of the modern day world. When she is not writing or thinking up her next story ideas, she is enjoying South Louisiana sunsets.

    Very beautiful photo shot!

  10. sherijkennedyriverside – North Bend, WA USA – Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. For the past 8 years, writing has been my second full time job, and it's worth every sleepless night. Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountains. Her heart has found its home.
    sherijkennedyriverside says:

Beautiful! I felt like the rising moon was keeping me company on my hundred mile drive home last night. Such a presence it has!

  11. So powerful. I have really enjoyed getting my words and photograph every day.

  12. Cat Among the Pigeons Press – I make primarily handmade original prints, and sculptural artist’s books with poems. Themed often on encounters with natural and urban environments. I want to place the reader of my work in a particular moment, to prompt an emotional response as well as thoughtfullness in the viewer. I hope the work brings a pause for thought, a lightness of spirit, an escape from the busyness of modern life that can be overwhelming. I have been making and exhibiting artists’ books, multiples, prints and mixed media since completing a degree Ba (Hons) Print Media Book Arts & Craft in 2001. My work is held in private and public collections. Website & blog: http://catamongthepigeonspress.wordpress.com Twitter/Instagram: @CatPigeons Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CatAmongthePigeons

  13. M. – Since I was little I liked to visualize and create things. Painting with watercolors is what makes me happy now. That, and spending time gardening and reading. I love long walks, biking, and the beach.

  14. judybarton – Still in love, complicated, almost stupid, interested to recognize herself. "Up to the age of eighteen years old everybody writes poems; after, only two categories of people may continue to do it: poets and idiots." (Benedetto Croce). Obviously I do not consider myself a poet.
    judybarton says:

it’s wonderful … your picture … and your text too!

  17. djsn333 – I love painting. I love paintings, periods of art history, and the stories of many painters. I paint from my heart. At times my heart has a goal in mind, other times it wants to play or explore a method. Sometimes it wants to paint something that is inspired by another painting that I am drawn to. Each painting is an experience. It’s a rare occasion that I know where it is headed. On this blog I’ve included, and will continue to include, paintings I’ve done. If you are fond of them please search for ‘jDustin’ on ebay or leave a message with a means of contacting you. I am open to ‘risk-free’ commission work. By that I mean I am open to painting something upon request (based on a photo, sitting or vague idea,) with the agreement that what I produce will only be purchased upon completion if my client is pleased with the outcome. Thank you for stopping by! Jason
