Yet another beauty. I am continuously happy that I’ve subscribed to “Leaf and Twig,” which graces my cluttered and overfull inbox with a reminder of the larger, more exquisite nature of the world.
So much peace in your white beautiful nature…is almost making me regretting to be in the Pacific region…
even if my region is one of the richest in healing plants and herbs…
Thank you for allowing me to discover your nature through your photos!!!
Great photo and words…

Agreed! Larger, exquisite, life affirming and lovely.
Thank you both!
Cat – thank you so much. Some how I happened upon your lovely comment which lead me to your beautiful artwork! I’m following!
poignant…
Hi. We have pleated woodpeckers here. Your photo and poem capture the startling brightness of that red cap! Jane
Pileated woodpeckers, I mean. WordPress thinks it can spell! Jane
A wonderful sight.
Magnificent creatures – living relics of the dinosaur era.
Magnifique
Lovely…what more can I say?
Love!
How wonderful to share an instant with that magnificent bird. -Always grateful and inspired by your work.
Wow, those are wonderful birds. We get them here some times, it’s always special.
Great shot!
how beautiful! I just spotted one this morning.
like the pic and words. we’ve had a woodpecker frequenting our suet feeder all winter. So nice to see them in an otherwise drab landscape.
lovely shot
One of my favorites.
Nice to see.
Breathtaking!! (And Jane, I like the “pleated woodpecker” idea. Sort of a festive spring version perhaps?)
One of my friends has spotted one in his back yard. They’re just magnificent – and raucous, too!
Beautiful!

Sometimes that’s all you need is a little spot of red to brighten up the day.
Magnificent red! Always a delight to see in the snow!
What a lovely picture, I really enjoyed this post.
Great composition!
So beautiful!
I’ll take color wherever I can find it this winter …
