  1. Apple Hill Cottage – Renovating a little cottage in the country that's been in our families for years. Three years of renovating on weekends took its toll, and we moved in before it was finished. Yes, we knew the warnings… but still, we're here now and our adventures have changed a bit...

As an observer of language. I wonder why summer is referred to as ” Her”? Just curious.

    1. I just associate everything about ‘mother nature’ as female. I’m glad you noticed. I almost changed it.

  5. Marshall Weber – Dunwoody, GA – I am 19 and have been a birder for over eight years and a naturalist for over three. I love photography, writing and drawing as well as helping others see the beauty, diversity, complexity, fascination and interconnectedness of nature. I titled my website "A Passion for Birds" because, while I have a passion for all of nature, my interest in birds started it all. Birds will always have a special place in my heart and hopefully I can help you love them and learn about them too!

  7. simon7banks – Harwich, UK – I write poems and stories, often mystical or fantastical. I believe very strongly that poetry is an art of the spoken word, so the sound of the words is important: so please say my poems aloud, if only in your head. I live in the U.K., in Harwich, Essex, but have worked in Kenya and Finland, and travelled to many other places. This is my literary blog. I'm also a Liberal Democrat political activist, birder, long-distance trail walker, real ale drinker and Quaker.

  8. LB – I'm a woman who loves spending time on the motorcycle and in, or on, any body of water. I love traveling and reading, baking and cooking, taking way too many pictures, and enjoying my family and friends. Life is an adventure, and I want to remember and express my joy for it! This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.

Enjoyed your photo, words, and the comments!
