  1. Ooooh! I seriously love old gnarled wood, especially when it’s fallen and you see that nature has taken over nature. So beautiful! I loved seeing this as my first picture in the morning. Thank you!

  3. Richard Ankers – United Kingdom – Richard M. Ankers is the English author of The Eternals Series and Britannia Unleashed all published by Next Chapter. Richard feels privileged to have had stories and poetry published all over the world. He lives to write. A prolific writer, a constant source of clearing his mind, Richard has created this website to share just some of the many poems and prose he has written that would otherwise have fallen by the wayside. Reading and writing have always been Richard's main love along with the pursuit of keeping fit, running, walking, and anything that provides a spectacular view. Running in the rain with his headphones on whilst dreaming up some future storyline is just about perfect. It would be nicer still if that run was in Switzerland or Norway, but we can't have everything. Oh, and coffee, lots and lots of coffee.

I live the words, the image and the sentiment. Perfect. 🙂

  7. On the one hand, this looks remarkably like flowing lava. On the other, it looks remarkably like my fudge used to look when I was still learning to make it, and it would set up too quickly!

  8. chrisstov – I have reached retirement age. I am a keen amateur photographer. I like walking and listening to classical and film music, also some popular and pop music from the 60s and 70s. I like reading and have recently discovered Kindle and lately the kindle fire.
    chrisstov says:

Beautiful picture. It’s surprising how just a piece of wood lying on the ground can sometimes look so lovely.

Thank you. I have ALS and less perceived movement everyday. What a beautiful reminder that growth is movement. Wow. May I put this entry on my blog and use it for a post? With a direct link to your Blog of course?! It would be an honor! twe

  11. Son of Sharecroppers – I'm an attorney, but far more important to me than my work are my family and my hobbies: in particular, writing, photography, fishing, and guitar. I'm an amateur at all of these things; indeed, I am an amateur at all things important. But I keep trying to learn.
    Son of Sharecroppers says:

    Lovely!

  12. AngieG9 – Owensboro, KY, USA – I'm a somewhat normal person who happens to have MS, therefore my blog name "A Train Wreck Looking For A Home". I try to keep a sense of humor about everything in life, including the times when I run into the walls or bang my head on the furniture, and can always depend on my kids to keep me centered. MS has changed my life, but when I'm in remission life goes on as always. And what a life it is! I'm in my golden years and still looking for the gold, but it's not a bad trip.
    AngieG9 says:

Fantastic. I love photos like this, and have taken many of them in black and white film. Absolutely perfect.

I love this shot, I can’t tell how many creatures are coming into being from that old piece of wood.

  14. GrannysPlace – washington coast – I am my husbands care giver. He is a disabled Nam Vet with schizo effective disorder and secondary bipolar, and heart disease, insulin dependent diabetic, frontal lobe dementia, and other stuff. I find the beauty in the world through the eye of my camera lens and this is also my inspiration for when life gets tough and it does at time with a loved one with a severe mental illness. I am Mother to two, grandmother to three and great grandmother to two. I am a 12 stepped-clean and sober for many years and am 65 years old.
    GrannysPlace says:

I really like this and relate it to somethings I have been able to let go of in my own life.

  15. Dr. Denny Wilkins – Dr. Denny Wilkins professes journalism at a small, private university in the Northeast. He has climbed, hiked, kayaked, photographed, skied, and otherwise meandered aimlessly throughout the American West for decades. He has degrees in geology, environmental studies, and communication — and has tried to make use of them as a co-founder of the progressive cultural blog ScholarsandRogues.com. He’s broadly interested in how the world works and why it works that way. He hates writing, although he does like having written well.
    Dr. Denny says:

    Beautiful but depressing …

  16. simon7banks – Harwich, UK – I write poems and stories, often mystical or fantastical. I believe very strongly that poetry is an art of the spoken word, so the sound of the words is important: so please say my poems aloud, if only in your head. I live in the U.K., in Harwich, Essex, but have worked in Kenya and Finland, and travelled to many other places. This is my literary blog. I'm also a Liberal Democrat political activist, birder, long-distance trail walker, real ale drinker and Quaker.
    simon7banks says:

Fantastic – poetry in apparent motion.
