  1. Mike Howe – Pembrokeshire, Wales – I am an ecologist and a composer of guitar based instrumental melodies signed to the Real Music label in California. I like to write about my work, music and nature conservation and how it all comes together. I try not to write about things I don't know much about.

  7. Alex Smithson – I have a strong passion for photography. I love to write and publish articles, reviews and photography work as I aim to pursue a full-time photography career in the future. I raise awareness for Mental Health as it’s close to my heart and I want to make sure the photography work I produce gives hope to anyone who may feel like they don’t have a voice and that it’s always okay to be your actual self and that you’re always free to express yourself for who you truly are.

    1. The more photos I take the more photos I ‘see’ and having a camera at the ready seems to create a lot of luck.

        Oh because when I try to take a photo, I like to try and take something close-up (e.g. a bee) but when I do, the bee in a particular photo looks a tad fuzzy, is there a way I can improve on it to get more views and followers for my blog?

      2. A lot of it is just practice and experimentation – and knowing your camera. It really is worth it to read the manual and understand your settings. You have to play around with how close you are to something – being too close can create fuzziness – you may need to step back and zoom in. Or take a wider shot and crop it close. I’ve learned a lot from looking at others photos. Have fun.

Born in Brighton, England, I've lived my entire adult life in Los Angeles, California. A few years ago I rediscovered photography which is a great excuse to get outside and look. I'm also in the process of re-writing some of my unpublished short stories and possibly a novel. .
