great capture all the different twists and turns and hidden landscapes within the simple opening of a flower the textures demand to be sampled as if a rare dessert were placed on a table the color an invitation to savor a flavor yet discovered

  2. Fantastic shot! I just bought a new camera and it arrives tomorrow. I’d love to take macro shots like yours. Any tips?

    1. It helps to have your camera handy so when you see something great you can snap it. I take many shots of the same thing. Experiment with cropping. Have fun!

  3. typewriterpoet – I enjoy many poetry styles but enjoy short poetry the most and a little bit of microfiction, but the challenge of a long poem has it's enjoyment as well!

    Quite lovely!

  5. Both the photo and the flower have such amazing complexity. Beautiful.

  6. suesilver – US – I have been a photographer and writer, especially a poet for a long time. I am blogging and sharing this work of mine for the first time in a blog. I write and am a published poet. I plan to share more, write more and keep traveling. I really love reading the many blogs out here in the blogosphere. I also have been a practitioner of Energy Medicine for years and work in the medical field. I am very excited to be working more in the Energy Medicine field in the near future.

Lovely, such rich tones and textures. What kind of camera and lens do you use?

This is lovely and it made me sigh.

  8. This looks like you could keep peeling layers and it would never end. The vibrant pink is amazing.

  9. phantomvogel3 – California USA – A snap happy fool on meager means. If you enjoy the world through my lens then follow me. If I can evoke a feeling within a frozen moment I'd imagine that's an image well done!

    Great shot!

  10. pishnguyen – I love photography, writing, anime, my family, and my dogs. And I seem to spend a LOT of time chasing my muses around in circles.

    Absolutely beautiful! I love peonies.

  11. Mary Mageau – Queensland, Australia – I am a writer and nature photographer, living in a small rural village in the Samford Valley. Here on Australia’s east coast, surrounded by the Brisbane State Forest Park and four rugged mountains, I enjoy exploring new and creative ways to engage with the natural world that surrounds me. My husband and I often roam around Australia as we visit the outback and cities of interest. Our favourite destinations also include the islands scattered throughout the Pacific Ocean. With my notebook, pen and camera at hand, I’ve enjoyed researching and photographing amazing places and scenery, together with the stunning flowers and foliage found in these unique parts of our world. This blog―Nature as Art and Inspiration―has developed through my love of writing and travel.

Another sensitive pairing of image with words.

  12. sukiesoriginal – Australia – I'm an artist in multi and mixed media. I am, like Dr Worm, interested in things. Besides the creative life, one of those things is Countering Dominator Culture.
    sukiesoriginal says:

I just love peonies, and I love that pink – gorgeous photo, and words!
I just wish peonies would grow and flower for me, but they don’t seem to like our climate much – I’ll have to be content with photos. Thanks for yours!

  13. Rene Yoshi – Just a transplanted Okinawan-French Southern girl with a wee bit o' Irish, sharing photography and what I'm learning about spiritual things, including putting off legalism and religious traditions, and embracing God's matchless love, tender mercy, and amazing grace!
    Rene Yoshi says:

    Gorgeous!!! One of your best!

  14. RMW and BTC – We are problem solvers, who are very interested in the relationship of mathematics to interactive human behavior. We believe that with only four postulates and two corollaries we can account for virtually all IHBs, gain a better and more truthful understanding of ourselves, discover a more global form of education, and understand the precise conditions necessary for world peace.

    The labyrinthine pathway of beauty.

  15. LB – I'm a woman who loves spending time on the motorcycle and in, or on, any body of water. I love traveling and reading, baking and cooking, taking way too many pictures, and enjoying my family and friends. Life is an adventure, and I want to remember and express my joy for it! This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.
    LB says:

    oh my … beautiful

  16. Dr. Denny Wilkins – Dr. Denny Wilkins professes journalism at a small, private university in the Northeast. He has climbed, hiked, kayaked, photographed, skied, and otherwise meandered aimlessly throughout the American West for decades. He has degrees in geology, environmental studies, and communication — and has tried to make use of them as a co-founder of the progressive cultural blog ScholarsandRogues.com. He’s broadly interested in how the world works and why it works that way. He hates writing, although he does like having written well.
    Dr. Denny says:

You know this is something I absolutely love. I’m envious of this image.

  17. thirdhandart – Kansas City, MO – If I’m not out taking photos, you’ll probably find me sitting at the computer editing photos. Recently, I've been experimenting with turning photos into digital artwork: paintings, sketches and pastels...
    thirdhandart says:

    Beautiful!

  18. reocochran – I am experiencing crazy and hapless adventures in dating that may interest people over fifty. I am now 65 this year (2017) and enjoy taking photographs, incorporating stories or poetry on my blog. I have many old posts which are informative and written like essays. I have several love stories collected from family and friends. Even strangers spill their stories, since I am a grown version of the girl next door. I have been trying to live a healthy lifestyle with better food selections and active hiking and walking. I have written four children's books and illustrated them. They are not published but a battered women's shelter used one about neglect and abuse for their children's program and a 4H group used my "Kissing a Bunny is like saying a Prayer" as a coloring book. Please comment or respond so I may get a chance to know you. Sincerely, Robin
