As truly odd as this association may seem, the color of the buds reminds me of the bathroom in the house in which I spent my childhood. It was the 1950s, and the combination of maroon, chartreuse, gray, and deep green was favored. Mom decided to be stylish, and we lived for a few years with a maroon and chartreuse bathroom. I never see one of the colors without remembering!
I think that is a very stylish (and bold!) color combination! I grew up in California in the 60’s and we had bathrooms (tub, sink and toilet) in baby blue, pink and pale green) while the refrigerator (which hung horizontally on the wall) and oven and stove where avocado green. I never see avocados without thinking of that kitchen!

And don’t forget Harvest Gold! I never see that color without suddenly standing in our 1960s kitchen.
