Judy, thanks for your comments. They are common around here. The red winged blackbird is one of my favorites. They are so very stylish sporting those epaulettes.
Pamela, this is the fourth N’oreaster in as many weeks. Sometimes we get on a cycle like that. This one is missing us as it is hugging the coast. We’ve had a little melt and the birds are busy as can be. So spring is no the way!
And it looks like mink tracks on the snow 😉
What sharp eyes you have!
I see that same picture live here. Redwing blackbirds serenade me from cattails during my morning walk.
I like the combination of the vertical reeds and the smooth greyish-white curves of the snow. I saw the tracks right away, too — what a fun addition.
Thanks.
a little lace of mink feet…what could be sweeter
🙂
Nice photo, beautiful bird, interesting words. I saw it is a neartic species … in Europe we cannot see it.

Superb click! Truly awesome!
Thank you Ashok
Saw on the news you’re getting clobbered by storms again where you are. Hope the sight and sound of redwing blackbirds gets you through!
