This is a lovely photo– I really enjoy getting your updates every day, and I’m impressed that you’re so on top of it, putting out a new update every day. I’ve been looking around wordpress, and as far as I can tell, what you’re doing with your blog is very similar in spirit to what I’m trying to do, although with a different focus. As you can see, I’ve also been trying to post something every day, but with the rest of my work/parenting responsibilities, it’s hard to make the time. Where are you located? It looks like New England, or maybe the upper midwest. I’m often envious of the ‘real’ winter depicted in your posts, here in Virginia we get lots of mud and not a whole lot else. Ennyhoo, I just wanted to say that I’m very impressed with what you’re doing here, and consider you something of a kindred spirit, even though your blog (intriguingly) has nearly no information about you.
It’s the Connecticut – in the “upper Valley”. This shot was taken from the bridge that connects Orford, NH with Fairlee, VT.
Thanks Dr. Denny I’ve enjoyed your comments.
very cool
I hope it says…. Spring is coming soon!
Who can decipher this message? It is long winded! 🙂
Ha!! Good one!! 🙂
Nice succinct connection. Well done.
nice perspective
Amazing photo – love it 🙂
Nice wintery scene. What river?
It’s the Connecticut river in the “Upper Valley” between NH and VT. An especially beautiful place.
Your pictures are amazing. You live in a very beautiful place. I’m very jealous!
A perfect caption!
Looks surprisingly like Arabic!
Oh it does!
what a lovely image and view!
So beautiful!
melted away and now time to flow away..winter days goodbye..
Movement frozen in its tracks. Energy captured in a lonely yet beckoning signature.
I want to go ice scating….
Beautiful photo! Wonderful patterns, comparable to clouds seen from an airplane. Nature’s patterns and order are so subtle and complex.
lovely photo!
Elegant font!

And what a beautiful message it is!
Great post! Hoping winter is finished soon, tired of the cold and threats of snow.
wonderful shot
Amazing images.
what a cool photo…it is so amazing you managed to catch the the unique pattern of the snow caused by the snow!
Lovely! It reminds me of my Photo challenge: Delicate:

Snow script! Those cryptic messages from nature. I love it.
Beautiful colors.
Lovely picture and words as always
This is incredible.
Amazing effect. But I’ll have to stop looking at your posts when winter comes here – unless of course you are then posting lovely warm pictures
Lovely!
The image brings back memories of being on the lake last weekend.
very pretty
I was guessing the West, but VT/NH makes sense.
Ohhh, that’s very very nice! Love the words!
Mother Nature is the consummate artist. You certainly were in the right place to be able to put your own vision upon hers–nicely done.
Beautiful message!
Like shorthand across the page.
Wonderful landscape and description. I can feel a (landscape) quilt struggling to be born
beautiful!
Just wonderful, both image and words.
Cool photo but can you ice skate on it?
I need a ‘love’ button for this one 🙂
I have never seen this scene before. Most interesting and a wonderful shot.
The pattern of the infinite…
So gorgeous! A purposeful pattern
Great picture – very unusual!
I love this! I’ve never seen anything like it. Very unique!
I’ve spent much of my life wandering through Vermont and New Hampshire (I’m a Massachusetts native), so curiosity compels me to ask: Which river?
It’s the Connecticut – in the “upper Valley”. This shot was taken from the bridge that connects Orford, NH with Fairlee, VT.

Interesting pattern on the ice. Mother nature is always surprising us. Great capture!
Reblogged this on Merindy & Jason =-) and commented:
It almost does look like writing on the river…
Wonderful letter written with snow on ice!
I love the color in this photo.
Looks like perfect skating ice!
